The 2015 SAVO Sales Enablement Summit provides customers with the opportunity to carefully plan Summit activities and navigate networking opportunities. Making decisions about sessions which provide a good fit for team members ahead of the event ensure a successful event experience. We heard from Brittany Schriver in our previous post with advice on getting the most out of your time at SAVO’s Summit. Below we hear from Elise Gilbert who discusses divvying up time for sessions, networking, and conversations with SAVO:
“You need a plan to ensure that the attendee(s) get the most out of their time away. This year we are fortunate that we have four people attending Summit so dividing and conquering is part of our plan. There will be many great sessions and with four attendees we will be able to cover most of them. If we all attend the exact same sessions then we might as well have only sent one person. To ensure this doesn’t happen, we will meet in advance to review all of the sessions and determine which ones best fit each person and their respective role, what our business objective will be and to understand if the session is applicable to what we are doing today or in the future.
“In addition to the sessions, meeting other SAVO customers is a big objective for us. In some ways, the conversations that you have during a conference are as valuable as the sessions themselves. There are many great companies from which we can learn. When you attend a conference with a lot of people you don’t know, you may feel comfortable spending all of your time with the people from your own company, but you don’t learn that way. We want to learn how others have implemented and refined their SAVO applications so networking is really important for us. My personal goal is to meet someone new at each session that I attend because networking with other customers adds value. We are also looking forward to lots of conversations with the experts at SAVO – whether it is to hear about our great ideas for enhancements or just to brainstorm on some of our challenges.
“In addition to note-taking, using the SAVO community apps like SAVO Connex and the mobile conference app will be additional ways to learn and stay engaged, as will Twitter and LinkedIn. Finally, I was unable to attend the full Summit last year so I did not spend much time in the expo area talking to partners. This is something that I plan to do this year because I had no idea the breadth of expertise from these partners. Hope they have great swag that I can bring home!”
